MWP to have knee procedure

Metta World Peace will undergo platelet-rich plasma therapy on January 6 (Popper).

PRP procedures involve taking blood from the patient and enhancing it with additional platlets, then re-injecting it near the injured area.

World Peace is unsure how this will affect his playing time.

Harris Decker

Obviously with a player that’s on the older side, it’s always tough to see a player go through a “procedure” of any type. Still, Metta World Peace has been a no show for the Knicks this year. He’s been ineffective when on the court and besides from showing up Tyler Hansbrough early on, he’s made less than no impact on the court. Hopefully he returns quickly and can contribute but at this point, I’m not counting my chickens.

Ever since Grapes lauded the 4th line, we have been mired in mediocrity....pucks bounce and frustrates scorers. But, hitting is about effort....time to rock on 4th line again and set the tone.

@cournoyer @ivo college talent doesn't translate to professionals. It takes time so one of them will stay

Penguins are a franchise on the decline . Can't believe Fleury still starts. We meet in the first ,we're going to the second

There are three teams separated by one point. They are all gonna make the playoffs. Enjoy the chaos and mayhem of the next 10 days. Some of you folks are really gonna be testing your circulatory system from blood pressure changes. Owners, managers, coaches, players will be fired and rehired many times over the next 10 days..

Great having meaningful games in April. Don't stress, leave that to the coaches and players. Sit back and enjoy. This is the best part of being a sports fan, every game has huge meaning...

For the regular season, I just want the team to get 100 points. After that, it will be what it is concerning seeding.

Sink or Swim boys, this is the time to make a strong push going into the playoffs.

Pretty crazy how when all is said and done, how much the Flyers and Blue Jackets control the Isles playoff seeding.

the Isles Pens game will decide who gets 2nd place

time2win

@redly I'm not so sure about that.  i thought so all of last week but teh pens have been dreadful.  i watched most of that game last night and they were terrible.  philly was all over them.  i think it's between us and the caps but stay tuned.  caps have a brutal schedule starting tonight @mtl, @ott, @det (back to back), vs Bos, vs NYR.

@redly very high probability, but the caps might have a say in it too.....

@time2win   I saw that game as well.  Pittsburgh should be very concerned.  They are the definition of flat.  We may be losing most of our games of late, but at least we have played well losing many games 2-1.

I'm hoping that the scoring drought is over.  If the Isles play focused, playoff style games over the last 5, they should get at least 6 points against these opponents.  If they finish in the wild card with 101 points, then tip your hat to the Caps who would have to go 3-1-1 against those opponents.

Just win your games boys and let the standings take care of themselves.  I don't even care if they start on the road, I even think that for them, it may be better.  In the playoffs, any opponent will be tough, and so will we.

@redly Wouldn't surprise me if the Caps surprise everyone and take the #2 spot. The Isles are now in control of their own destiny. We shall see....

@redly Definitely a playoff preview game!

All of these games are huge is right.  I think Wash is the team we need to look out for, but a closer look at Washington's remaining schedule makes me feel better.  Additionally, aside from teh first few minutes of that game last night, Pittsburgh looks tired.  Philly was all over them

I just realized that Columbus won 7 games in a row. Not good for the Islanders, but they need to break that streak.

REDSpointofview

@islesfan77

They are the hottest team in the league right now and we get them twice in the last five games.  Nothing is cut in stone just yet as Ottawa is technically still alive for that last playoff berth and we have not clinched.  I am not raising alarms but, I would say that the playoffs have actually started with these last five games.

If Nielsen is hurting, perhaps it best to rest him for a few.  Kennedy was signed for just that reason,,, depth...  He can move into Nielsen's spot at center and Grabner and Kulimen take the wings.  I would like to see Lee reunited with Tavares and put Strome on his right side.  If Okposo has struggled, perhaps a change of scenery with Nelson and Bailey can right that ship.  This might be an edge of your seat week...

@REDSpointofview @islesfan77 unless you catch a team on a bad night, there are never easy games.

At this point we have to play each game like it is a 7th game PERIOD. This is the test we have to pass.

@jrjr knicks and garbage should never be used in the same sentence.  knicks and recycle maybe so you have a chance at redemption.  but throwing them in the garbage seems like a waste of resources.

Well, I referr to the populating of old Knicks posts as garbage. I also regard Knicks now as garbage. Hopefully Phil can turn this thing around- I beleive it starts with getting rid of melo- but that's for another day- LGI
