Phil: Knicks haven’t heard

“I felt really good about my conversation with Carmelo Anthony. But we’re still waiting to hear,” Phil Jackson said on Thursday from Las Vegas.

The Knicks president of basketball operations said he is confident in a positive outcome from the Melo situation, and he expects an answer on Thursday. He also heard he would hear from Anthony on Wednesday and Tuesday, too (Herring, July 10).

“So far, we’re still in Plan A,” Jackson said.

I think another main reason why phil wants no sign and trade has to do with tax. Why rake back dead money since your not going to win and pay the tax. That's very netsish

So basically, Dan Gilbert called LeBron "cowardly" among other things in a nasty, vitriolic letter 4 years ago.

Here we are today, and Pat Riley basically called LeBron a gutless coward among other things in a scathing & subliminal post season press conference.

Whichever direction LBJ chooses, he is still going to subject himself to playing for individuals who have questioned his heart and manhood. The difference between Riley & Gilbert...Pat's words were in the form of a challenge, but LeBron got "buttt-hurt" and "moist" after Riley's challenge, so he's running back to Gilbert??? What an idiot.

Stephen A. Smith and Mike McGraw are reporting that Carmelo Anthony is having second thoughts about re-signing with the New York Knicks, with the Chicago Bulls resurfacing as an option.

Anthony has regained interest in the Bulls and Tom Thibodeau is reportedly keeping him interested.

The Bulls are internally trying to figure out how to close a deal with Anthony.

There have been no sign-and-trade talks with the New York Knicks, as the Bulls would need a commitment from Anthony before engaging.

A source told K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune that the Bulls continued efforts to find a third team to make potential sign-and-trade possibilities work.

The Bulls can offer Anthony a four-year, $73 million deal without parting with Taj Gibson, but expressed that they could make the finances work if he were to pick them.

Ken Berger of CBS Sports reports that the Los Angeles Lakers also remain under consideration.

Soon as I read Stephen A Smith...I dismissed this.  The same Stephen A smith that reported Lebron was in MIA yesterday...when he was still at his camp in vegas.

FOR EVERYBODY COMPLAINING ABOUT MELO TAKING MAX, AND NO FLEXABILITY....READ IT FROM PHIL HIMSELF:

Max won't clog cap: Jackson also stated that Anthony accepting a maximum contract of five years, $129 million wouldn’t hamper the Knicks’ future plans.

“No. They’re amenable to what we’re trying to get accomplished,” Jackson said of Anthony and his advisers. “We will discuss it. It’s not a big thing. You guys have made a much bigger thing about this, about what would happen. It’s not really a big thing. It’s about percentages, less than 1 percent available in a series of dollars that go over a period of five years. So, it’s not a big deal. It just gives us more flexibility. That’s all.”

Gilbert Letter still a Problem for the "King":

One reason, if not the major reason, that LeBron James has taken so long to decide whether to play in Miami or Cleveland next season is the infamous letter Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert penned about James after the superstar left Cleveland in 2010, sources said.

In the letter, written in Comic Sans font, Gilbert called James a "coward" and mocked the many nicknames and catchphrases attached to James, such as "King James," "The Chosen One" and "Witness."

While James recognizes that informing Cavs fans and Gilbert, who was told of James' decision to leave Cleveland in a telephone call five minutes before it was announced, on national television was a mistake, he is still wrestling with whether or not to return to play for Gilbert's team.

"If it wasn't for that letter, this would've been done awhile ago," one source said.

"He condemned Sterling but he's going back to the [expletive] who nearly called him an uppity [expletive]," one league executive said. "Hypocrite."

"Lebron is silent"

Real headline from Stephen A Smith

I'm going to create a new site

Breaking news, No News

I don't see the point of banding together. Didn't the spurs just blast the heat using fundamentals.

P.s. melody was a typo, a typo I won't edit

Seems to me melody and James really just wants bosh to kick rocks but lack the courage to say it so they wait if bosh leaves Miami obviously James will recruit Melody. Kinds cowardly if you ask me but maybe I'm wrong

Isola on FAN, right now, still very much sticking to his Melo returning and said that he really trusts his source and wouldn't put it in the paper if he wasn't very certain.

Bosh to Houston = Melo to Miami.... That's the hold up! Hate it or Love it, that's my gut feeling... If LBJ goes to Cleveland, Melo may want the Bulls, so he has a chance to win the East, this year... Until he realizes Rose=Stat 2.0... Go Knicks

If he goes to Cleveland i will like him but if he stays in Miami I definitely won't.

Lebron could win in a lot of places but bringing a Championship to Cleveland would be the ultimate achievement and with Irving and Wiggins in the fold he would have the potential of a better big 3 then in Miami, and if they could flip Bennett last years 1st rounder along with Thompson who is 23 and averaged a double double along with a couple future 1st rounders they could get Love to and have a big 4, Varejao,Love,Lebron,Wiggins and Irving, Wow, don't see anyone in the East beating that team and would give any west team all they can handle as well. Knick dream would be to have Lebron and Melo playing together and if there was any creative way to pull it off they should, together they would win and be Kings of NYC!

I call the Heat remain the same. Bosh Wade Lebron all back in Miami.

Sheridan sticking to his guns.  Claiming LeBron's legacy "must unfold in Cleveland"; and that "the decision is unfolding".  LOL

You never know with LeBron; and we shouldn't draw any conclusions from him flying to Miami tonight.  I seem to remember that four years he passed on the team which plays closest to the location where he announced his previous "decision".

@orlando_knickfan ..........let him walk to CHi if SnT would be us getting boozer and 2 late 1st rounders next year .

..let Fisher give the youngster a crash course on NBA this upcoming year , and end up with a top 5-7 pick in next year draft .

...knicks would have over 50 mil in CAP space next year

losing melo for nothing def isnt the end of the world .

@Mets0987 If he goes to CLE they'll be my 2nd favorite team.  Wiggins+Irving+LeBron will be fun to watch, as will the tears flowing out of Miami.

Boston used their trade exception from the Paul Pierce deal in the three way deal with the Nets and Cavs, just a few days before it expired.

@samb. BarnBoy trade is still haunting us... The funny thing is teams that would be willing to take that scrub, want a pick or 2.... We gave up a pick for that scrub, unbelievable!!! In typical Knicks fashion!

@samb Got a long time until the trade deadline and the odds of both of them making it that long without getting hurt is pretty slim.

@1harris1 plane's making a detour where LeBron is going to skydive to a laser-light show over Cleveland to announce his decision, leaving DWade by himself for the rest of the trip to MIA

@Armand N Berdynaj Exactly.  That's what LeBron told them at dinner.  Wade is loyal so he's staying.  LeBron wants younger guys to play with so he's going back to CLE.  Bosh is scared to be anything but a 3rd fiddle so he's going to HOU

I think he means it's interesting because he thought Lebron going back to Cleveland was pretty much done. Now that he may not its "interesting"
