Chip, chip, chipping away to a first round exit, most likely, but I really don't give a damn.

The Knicks are finally competing!

I'll reserve the bottle popping for going over .500, but I'm certainly happier than I was a  2 weeks ago.

A much improved defense has topped 5 straight wins. 6-1 Since the New Year.

Opponents have avg 89pts in the last 5 wins. That's a huge deal for a team ranked at the bottom in defense.

The turnaround could have been 7-0, if Jr. held the ball in the last seconds of the Hou game. That mental unraveling was part of a bigger picture involving the enigma that is Jr, ending in a $50k fine and a one game sit.

Nonetheless, the team has played better defense with less switching, combined with a smarter and more competitive brand of ball. Can't over state the improved communication on defense, and trust, especially from Melo. His assists have improved, partly because he's passing where sometimes didn't but his teammates are dropping shots as well. Melo tending to shut the valve when they did't complete the assist.

The  team itself has moved the ball better, but a svelte  Felton has come back to play like an NBA PG. Something he did not allow himself to do at his portlier weight.

There is also the resurrection of STAT, the breakthrough of Shumpert and arrival of rooks Hardaway Jr.  Murry. The extra gritty defense and buckets from K-Mart top off the turnaround.

I expected, at a minimum, this level of play from the jump. Better late than never. :-)

Hope to see the Knicks make it further than I imagine they will, but as a Fan seeing some light out of the darkness, all you can say at this point is Let's Go Knicks!

Nice they are winning, but they still show an incredible inability to play team basketball at the end of games. Instead they go iso-Melo and he jacks up a jumper from 25' out. Sometimes he makes them and we marvel at what a talented player he is, but more often than not he misses in those situations. What they need to do more of is the type of play where Melo penetrated then kicked the ball out to Felton for the 3. That play essentially won the game for them.

I keep yelling at the screen- play basketball, play basketball - do the things you've been doing all game with ball movement and player movement to get easy shots and wide-open looks, and got you the lead to start with. But, no, they stand around watching Melo go one-on-one. Don't know if this is coaching or Melo or a combination of both, but it needs to change if they hope to win at a higher level.

I hope you guys know that although Charlotte has not been playing well as of late, they have been a much improved team this year. Don't just assume Knicks will blow them out. Easily could be one of those "upsetting upsets". I just don't want everyone to jump ship right when the Knicks finally lose their first game in a while in the upcoming games. (Most likely Indiana, but you never know).

By the way I love how hype J. Tyler is getting on the bench ... you know he is itching to get some court time

If you rewind the game to the time when the Morris twin gets thrown out, you can see Woody cracking up while he's telling the ref that he wants Kravtsov to shoot the FTs, lol . . .

@BiggieSmalls My cousin is a fly by night fan (of course Miami is his team now) and cannot understand how I can be a fan since 1974!  I told him I don't know either, but when I get cut I bleed blue and orange!
