Heres a great site that shows the Grizzles as a team under Hollins

http://www.82games.com/1213/1213MEM3.HTM

offensively they weren't a power house scoring 93.4 ppg but only gave up 89.3 ppg

look at the TO the grizzles under Hollins Team= 1146 the opponents= 1268 thats a huge difference in the turnover battle. His teams forced the opposition to shoot 70%  long jumper while his team shot 67% and also 26% close shots for his team while the opposition is 24% in that area.

The stats are there to show Hollins is a good coach and should be the right guy to hire for this Knicks team. We have the personnel ( other than at pg) we have one main thing that Memphis was missing a legit top 10 player in Melo ( yea he isn't Kobe LBJ or MJ but Melo is a star that does have bad games but hen he is on he is on).

I keep thinking of Shump JR Timmy and to a lesser extent Murry and how good they could be if a coach like Hollins is here. No more 20 plus threes a game  more attacking the basket these guys would thrive attacking the rim.

In 2012-13 Hollins team took 1107 3s and 5572 2s so yea he would cut down on the live or die by the 3.

@Biggie

This is what I was trying to explain to you the other day....Amare basically said Woodson is a lier. He kept using the excuse of min restriction until Amare literally had to tell the media...thats not true! Now he has one of the best man to man defensive players on the bench...meanwhile the team is struggling defensively!?! On top of that he disrespects the man by putting him on rhe floor with 50 second left in the game??? WOW...If Woodson get fired its no one'u fault but his own. Beno, Tyson, 2 NBA CHAMPIONS & Amare multiple all stars...have called him out! IT'S TIME TO GO...GET YOUR HAT & COAT!

@Biggie  I can't say i agree that he should get the season. We have seen enough coaching blunders, inability to adjust between games and in games, he lack of game planing, poor play calling out of a time out, throwing players under the bus, playing wrong players and most of the time something good happens ( i.e. tyler and Murry play) its because its forced ( injuries). Playing Felton 30+ mins in most games, poor team defense, poor defensive schemes, not developing young players, poor offensive scheme ( yes his scheme worked last year when we had pretty good 3 pt shooting but this year we lost a lot of that and he still uses the same system ( how about using the offseason to implement a system that matches your players?), forcing AB to play out by the 3 point line when everyone else say how much better he is at 15-18 ft, not getting AB and Melo in more PnR  PnP situation heck thats the main thing AB should be used for PnP around 12-18 ft out.

I know you support Woodson but its time to move on and get a new coach. Its not like we are losing inspite of Woody we are losing BECAUSE of Woody. There are multiple games we lost due to bad coaching ( not all the losses are on him but a lot are).

@Biggie

It's all up to Melo. If he wants Woody gone, it's bye-bye. If not, Woody stays.

@Biggie  So his past actions justify the horrible brand of basketball we've seen all season long?

I'm sorry, but not reaching the playoffs is unacceptable and we're on course to achieve that pathetic accolade.

I gave up on Woodson long ago, not only because of the way he handles his players, but because his simple minded approach to the game has killed this team.

@JayfromtheFix  I like Hollins as well, and I'd like to see what he can do with this roster, but I just don't see the FO taking their chances with an individual that believes so strongly in his ideals and isn't willing to follow the company line and becoma a mindless drone.

@Seth Nadler  This should've been done months ago with a proper replacement already in charge of the team.

Now they'll fire him just to save face after what seems more and more to be a lost season and we'll be stuck with Herb the incompetent bunch Woodson leaves behind.

Nothing will truly change until the entire bench is replaced.

@refguy22  If this is true, then its about damn time. Even tho I'm not excited about Houston taking over UNLESS its for a hand full of games until the team does its homework and bring in a coach that fits the players we have. I think a coach like Hollins would be ideal, dude had Zach Randolph playing good defense, his team in Memphis was a pesky team on defense very aggressive went for steals even is they would get burned once in a while. Guys like Shump THjr JR Artest would really shine under a coach like Hollins. I bet if we get another coach that will play a little ore up tempo style that attacks the basket, not settle for 3s, you will see Shump JR and THjr will flourish. Obviously Melo  will be Melo and continue to do work all over. Maybe with a coach like Hollins we will see Tyler, Murray and a to a less extent Aldrich get more playing time, maybe we will see Felton have his minutes reduced. Fire Woodson, gimme Hollins!!!!!

I would love for team to get Hollins but would Dolan tolerate a strong willed personality like his? Hollins seems to be type that will take crap from no one; from players to management. Just what this team needs.

@Biggie @VerySilentJay  I'm thinking about Melo. And if this team doesn't reach the playoffs, he'll bolt, and Woodson will of course be the main culprit.

Players have lost confidence in him, and players' low performances are a direct result of weak coaching imo.

- How can Chandler be effective if he spends half the time switching on the perimeter or spends half his time in the perimeter? How can he be offensively useful if the P&R isn't executed properly and isolation sets are your go to offense?

- Melo's been a mosnter as usual, but can he be happy if he has to do everything when the team dumps him the ball with 4 seconds left on the clock because they weren't able to set up any sort of offense?

- How can Shump be useful if Woodson constantly alters his role and minutes because JR has the eternal first option even though he's struggling?

- How can is it possible that the team, 70% of the time, is still playing the same way they were playing in the offseason?

- How can it be that he's already been questioned by important names within the team? How can it be that he has no issues throwing players under the bus when things don't go his way, mostly because of his own faults?

All this should be ignored because of last season? I enjoyed it as much as the next guy ans was extremely grateful, even though the playoffs ended in a very disappointing fashion. But what has happened this season is a flat out joke.

@JayfromtheFix @buddhabing  Don`t have the pick anyway. Sometimes a change (eg DumPhony) can help regardless of the dullard that takes over

@buddhabing  Completely agree! How many times have new coaches taken over mid season and the team plays better after the change? The east is bad enough where even at 10 games under .500 and a new mid season coach can still get us in the playoffs. It might be as the 8th seed but its still the playoffs and out of the lottery

I would definitely take one step back to take two forward even if it meant sacrificing season. Hollins would instill the toughness needed to build a winning foundation. Although I think Hollins could still get the team into the playoffs if given the reigns. Still enogh time to right the ship.

@Biggie @JayfromtheFix  I'm sorry to say that the team's current play, attitude, body language, et al, doesn't really encourage me to believe much more can be salvaged...

@buddhabing  Thats the million dollar question. Is dolan willing to do what it takes to win ( not spend what it takes, do what it takes). Hollins is EXACTLY what this team NEEDS.

VerySilentJay
VerySilentJay

@buddhabing  Yup. Hollins takes no prisoners and isn't afraid even to get physical with players (ask J Bayless).

Tough love, but I sincerely doubt the FO is wililng to have a character that isn't willing to become a mindless drone.
