Woodson knows he’s failed

Mike Woodson told reporters he knows he’s failed, but that he’s still the right man for the job (Berman).

I read in Buckets over Broadway that there will be a protest against Dolan and Mills on March 19 before the Pacers game.  I intend to go and support the protesters.   Reminds me of the time we protested against Thomas.

Teams in the west are going to get bounced from the playoffs earlier than they would like. Teams like okc, phnx, and Houston may look at guys like Tyson n shump has pieces that will get them over top.

Same with Timmy but we need a real gm in place right after season to get this moving.

Mills is here to get melo to resign, that is it.

LMAO! That's like Biggie telling us that he has failed predicting everything about our Knicks this season and before but he's surely has this prediction thing down to a science.

No free agent will EVER come here as long as Dolan is in charge. This environment is toxic, these reporters are poisonous, and this franchise is cursed.

In response to Woodson's comments, Dolan added:

"I completely agree. No, not that he's failed, that he's the man for the job..."

With the expiring contracts of Chandler, Amar’e Stoudemire and Andrea Bargnani, the Knicks will have flexibility at next year’s trade deadline. If it looks like Love is leaving frigid Minnesota, the Wolves may trade him for any asset they can, and the Knicks would pounce at a sign-and-extend for Love the way they landed Anthony three years ago. One league source said of the Knicks’ bid for Love, “They’re selling New York fans land in New Mexico.’’ New York Post -

The Knicks expect to have cap flexibility starting this summer with a load of expiring 2015 contracts that have trade value, including Tyson Chandler’s. Chandler, who could be used as a pawn in a trade for Love, may see the writing on the wall, and Monday he wondered aloud if he wants to be around for the rebuild. Can we get something from Sims? Like a hello or something to hear why he thinks the team is playing poorly?

Oh Lawd...this man's an idiot.

If he knows of his massive failura, how about having some pride and stepping down.

It's not like you can do things any worse. He already butchered this team.

He's been a failure since he was outcoached by Vogel in the playoffs last season.

So Woody says he has failed the entire season and has done nothing to correct those failures. Yet, he is still the man for the job?

The guy is so limited he is unable to see that Felton is a disaster and he should be playing the young guys, Murray and tyler.

@tifoso6. That's right!! Can't believe the " bloggers" haven't made a post yet... I'm gonna try n make it there... Things need to change....

@darealeric wrong.  as long as we have money to offer via trade, or future cap space, and a star ala..Melo....they will come.  This is NYC.

@MeloStat301  Love has all ready stated he doesn't want to play for the Knicks.  He wants to go to Boston or the Lakers.  A sign and trade for Love will mean nothing if he doesn't want to play for us.  He wants to play for a franchise that has a history of winning and a competent owner/GM.  He has stated this much.

@MeloStat301

Minnesota would have way better offers than NY.

Starting with Houston, that still have their entire collection of 1st rounders, Terrence Jones, Chandler Parsons and Omer Asik to trade, if they please.

Oh, and they have Morey too.

But let's keep dreaming.

@Biggie

If Woodson is still here next year, no fan should be surprised.

If Woodson is still here next year, no fan should be at all.

LOL

They have Amare for Love and Chandler for Rondo, so cap isn't the problem, because neither of them will be a free agent before 2015. They don't need cap flexibility, the need trade assets.

Let's wait until Rondo and Love both demand a trade for NY!

@James Crockett

In Woody's defense.  It wasn't his fault that Chandler contracted a virus, and Amar'e was injured. Nor was it his fault that JR Smith went ice cold, and Novak disappeared. It especially wasn't his fault that in Game-6, in Indy, the refs awarded the Pacers 42 free throws (to the Knicks mere 18 attempts).  Woody made the mistake of not turning to the dreaded-1 earlier in the series. We needed his offense at times... but, c'mon... what chances did NY have? NBA invented a new term, just for the series (to help Indy oust NYK): "VERTICALITY!" If only Ewing could've been allowed to defend Jordan in that manner.

@James Crockett ...thinking about it critically,,,,,that seem to be the point where the woodson era went to hell in a handbasket !

@SheSaidSpikeWho  If you know you failed, wouldn't you do something you haven't done before to at least see if S *** sticks to the wall?

Especially if you know you aren't coming back next year.....oh wait, he might honestly think he is coming back next year.

I really don't see Houston breaking up what they have. Of course a first round exit from the playoffs may always change things...

They have Beverly who I think next to Avery Bradley, is the best defender at the PG position. Also has much better offensive game than Bradley.

Terrence Jones is going to be a monster. Chandler Parsons plays a lot like Kevin Love minus the insane rebounding but isn't that what D. Howard is for?

If I am Minny and can get Parsons and Jones minus the picks I would be greatful...but of course whenever you give away a 'superstar' you are going to want a first rounder.

Minny will be asking for a lot more than the Knicks can offer. Without Love who is their next prospect? Rubio's ship seems to have sailed and they have 1st round pick I am sure but as far as their actual roster..not many things to look forward to.

@Matthew Fraguela  It was his fault for trying to match up with Indy instead of letting Indy match up to us.  No team in the league dominated us last year when we were healthy and using the smaller lineup!

We went big in the Indy series and got crushed!

@Mel Brown @Blaze NYK @MeloStat301  Sorry, he didn't state that he wouldn't play for The Knicks.  But he said he wanted to be part of a winning organization and an organization that had good management where he could be part of a winning tradition.  He then in the same interview said he had a lot of respect for Danny Ainge and The Celtics tradition and also for the Lakers and that any player would be honored to play for one of those teams.  Basically he said everything but I'm going to The Celtics or Lakers in the interview.

Sandro
Sandro

@MeloStat301 @Sandro

Yes, he would pass out the opportunity to play with the best center in the league at 27 and the best shooting guard in the league at 25 to play with...Carmelo at 31.

If that's the case, Love is really dumb and deserves the Knicks.

Sandro
Sandro

@onewhoknix

I agree, I rather have Parsons + Jones + 1st rounder than Kevin Love alone. But we all know Houston is not likely to go deep in the playoffs, and the idea of pairing yet another Superstar to Harden and Howard might seem enticing to them.

Not to mention that Love is the perfect Star to put on that team, next to Howard. He rebounds like crazy on defense and he stretches the floor on offense, so Harden can play pick and roll all night long with Howard, with Love standing on the weak side.

In a league of Big 3's, I can see Houston tempted to do it.

@knicks50 @#Knickstape  I hear you and you make great points.  I was talking more along the line of Woodson's adjustments were horrible.  Ex. Camby on bench.

I feel we have no heart, guys like KMart and MWP are all heart type players.

Woodson also messed up with the whole Beno situation. Throwing him under the buswhen we were just getting something rolling.  Ray should have been benched in order to heal longer instead he rushed back and Woodson went right back to his son.

Also sinc Bargnani went down the Knicks have went with the small ball line up in every game but their last game in Detroit. Coincidentally the Knicks got off to their first lead after one quarter since the all-star break. Too bad Woodson did not stay with the big line up and the Knicks lost for the 12th time in 18 games with the "SMALL BALL LINE UP!"

HypoCrit_calNYKfans

@#Knickstape

He did go small many times, and even started the games with it more times than going big. The fact of the matter was that Lance Stephenson was "ABUSING" Prigioni and Felton could not guard George Hill. Not only that but Carmelo was having his hand full guarding the "bigger" David West. The only chance the Knicks had was to go "BIGGER" by playing the Knicks best rebounder Camby (the Knicks were getting out rebound in every game), and Woodson would not let Camby out of his dog house! The only player that was holding his on defensively was Shumpert on Paul George of all people! Playing small ball against "BIGGER" superior athletes is a recipe for failure!

Matthew Fraguela
Matthew Fraguela

@#Knickstape I hear what you're trying to say... But let's not forget. Jason Kidd scored ZERO points in the series; Novak scored 3 points (hit only 1 shot), and Prigs totaled 19 points in the 6 games. JR Smith was 9-39 from downtown, R-Felton was 1-8 (Game-3 loss) & 0-7 (Game-6 loss). Shump had 1 3rd-Quarter burst but was otherwise a complete non-factor the final 4 games. Looking at the Knicks, from Game-3 in BOS onward... what would encourage you as coach to stick with the 3-guard lineup?  PLay small?

Knicks have the worst collection of guards in NBA history, and it was almost as bad last season...  but some shooting rescued the bunch, for the most part.  BUt NOVAK proved twice he cannot score in the playoffs, Jason Kidd couldn't throw a golf ball into the ocean last June...

Woody did live and die with what got him there: WIth JR and Felton.  If Felton doesn't miss every shot he took in Game-6, the series makes it back to NY and NYK win at MSG.

I'm not a Woody fan.  NO WAY we should've re-signed him (and not beg Phil to come here).  BUt the issues are an owner/front office thang.  IF we swapped Shump for Lowry in Dec, we are getting ready for some playoff basketball.

Sure, we can root for the backup QB, fire every coach... but the time comes when you just say: OWNER FAIL!
